Outreach
The Robolancers’ outreach extends through our school and through Philadelphia. While every year we have different outreach opportunities, and we’re always looking for new ways we can spread FIRST values and our STEM knowledge further through our communities. You can find more information below on our current initiatives, and the progress we’ve made this year. For an all-time impact report, see here.
2024 - 2025 Initiatves
Workshops
Each year we host a number of workshops, conferences, and scrimmages. Rather than waiting for competition to get together, these are early and often, and provide teams with an opportunity to get help with issues, network, and learn from each other.
Competitions
Robotics teams can’t exist without robotics competitions! We host several competitions each year for students of all ages. Each of these events require dozens of RoboLancers to be successful – you can find us serving as referees, judges, technical advisors, and more.
Impact Consultations
After winning the FIRST Impact Award in 2023 and entering the FIRST Hall of Fame, we’ve been asked a lot of questions about our process – and we’re happy to help. We review Impact Award submissions, provide feedback on presentations, and help teams develop their outreach programs. If your team would like help, please contact us.
Conference Presentations
We take every chance we can get to share what we’ve learned with other teams. You can find us presenting at Comcast Bootcamp, the FIRST Championship, mentor conferences, and more!
Advocacy Campaigns
For over a decade, we’ve championed access to robotics programs for Philadelphia students. 2024 has been a challenging year for teams city-wide. We are actively working with school district, city council, state legislature, universities, and corporate sponsors to raise funds for teams city wide. Our goal is to ensure that any student in Philadelphia who wants to participate in robotics has the opportunity to do so. If you can support us in this mission, please contact us.
FRC Rookie Incubator
In addition to general team support across all programs, this is the first year we’ve had a comprehensive program dedicated to kickstarting new FRC teams in Philadelphia. Over the last three years, we’ve gone from 2 teams in the city to 10! During the 2025 season, six teams will be working out of our facility part time, receiving hands on guidance from both student and adult mentors and taking advantage of our larger manufacturing capacity.
Volunteer Hours
In addition to events hosted by the RoboLancers, you’ll often find us supporting other events in the area. If you’re competing against us, we’re probably also helping with field reset, queueing, and more!
